Abstract _ One thousand one hundred and eighty five specimens of fove species of fish from the Taunggyi environs were used in the present work.
Length-weight relationship of all five species has been found to highly significant.
Gonosomatic (GSI) and hepatosomatic indices (HSI) changed with season. The GSI values peaked during the spawning season, while the HSI values fall to lower levels.
The condition factor for all species also changed with season. The higher values were found for Cyprinus carpio throughout the yeae. Gonads were also observed throughout the season.
The discussion has been made on the present finding with reference to the previous works on both local and foreign species.
A suggestion for future work has been outlined. Master of Science (M.Sc.) University of Yangon. [19--]
