Dissertation note: ABSTRACT _ The study area lies in the northern part of Keng Lep Sub-Township and southern part of the Mongyawng Township, Tachileik District, in the Shan States (East). The study area is bounded by latitude 20° 58' 33" N to 20° 56' 6" N and Longitude 100° 16' 21" E to 100° 18' 58" E. The study area lies to the eastern part of the Chaungmagyi group, Molohein group, eastern granoide belt, andesites, rhyolite and diorite. By geological investigation and petrologic study, there are complex lithologic units. Among of them, six lithogic units are identified as; rhyolite schist, slate, quartzite sandstones, quartzite from Chaungmagyi group, Pink color micaceous sandstone, siltstone, clay, slate, quartzite from Moloheingroup, andesite, rhyolite tuff, diorite and granite. The study area structurally distanct of Tarlay fault, NanMa fault and Golden Triangle fault. And then locally occurrence as six minor faults of two is NE-SW. The main alterations of mineralization found mainly silicification and argillic alteration. Especially mineralization is characterized by vein system in the quartz and disseminated in the andesite. Ore samples were collected from along the mineralization host rock. The mineralized host rocks are significant is the quartz vein, andesite, rhyolite, and diorite. According to the ICP-MS analysis the highest gold content is 0.234 ppm. Gold mineralization at ThetKalTaung area, alteration and mineralization assembleage, mineralization styles and the paragenetic sequences and the study of the fineness of gold, the gold mineralizations of ThetKalTaung area belong to the hydrothermal deposit.
