Ph.D University of Mandalay. 2013. This dissseration is an attempt to analyze the economic policy of the Burma Socialist Programme Party (B.S.P.P).In implementing the Socialist Economic policy, the agricultural sector, trade and commerce sector and the industrical sector were handled according to the rationale of its requirement, policy and method of implementation. As the overall policy objective was the establishment of the Socialist System, priority was accorded to the supremacy of the State Sector in all its economic undertakings. In the implementation of industrical plans and programmes there was excessive sectarian bias, inefficient management, negligence towards detailed execution, weakness in accepting responsibilities etc.Management staff was given no rights to offer constructive comments and criticisms in the line of duty. Thus to sum up,the Socialist Economic Policy
of the B.S.P.P. failed to meet success and adversely led to the decline of general conditions of the country as a whole.
