Dissertation note: Abstract This study focuses on a commentary of Sarvati-Abhidharma-text (i.e., Dharmatrata's Abhidharmahrdaya of early 5th century CE work), the first work of vasubandhu, a Sarvastivada monk, namely Abhidharmakosabhasyam (5th century CE), in Sanskrit. Sarvastivadin-s opposed him in Sanghabhadra's Nyayanusara, due to what he criticized on Sarvasti-othodoxy that led debates in 5th century. Later he joined his brother Asangha's Yoghacara school then he converted to Mahayana. Abhidharmakosabhasyam is a popular text in northern and estern Buddhist societies through times. Many scholars translated it into their languages, some scholars wrote commentaries, and some edited the text and compared with others. Although ancient Indian Abhidharma masters argued Vasubabdhy's dharma theory, Indian scholars in later times; Lata Bapat studied the text with new perspectives and analyzed Vasubandhu's human theory in a positive way. The text offers key knowledge of the Truths, Samsara, Nirodha and Anatta; some of which are closer to the way how dharma exists in Theravasa Buddhism, i.e. it does temporarily in three momentary phenomena. In Myanmar, both Buddhist traditions are thought to be well grown till before Bagan period (11th century CE); later Theravada Buddhist-texts in Pali literature get more attractive to academia. Sanskrit Buddhism is not faded away here, that is evidenced by the fact that clarifying difficult points of Buddhist studies remained recorded in Sanskrit texts. This paper is intended for letting Burmese scholars and lay Buddhists, taste about similarities and differences between what they already known and the prominent non-Theravada Buddhist text; Abhidharmakosabhasyam (5th century CE)" that serving as a detour (from a sort of Mahayanism) leading towards today "Theravada Buddhist Abhidhamma" in Myanmar through which later time development of Buddhist Abhidharma in the world could be easily accesible.
