Europe is in citizenship mode. Few politicians advocate old-fashioned cultural assimilation. But everybody is still concerned with what prevents liberal societies from falling apart, what constitutes cohesion in viable and working communities, be it new forms of patriotism, enhanced participation, or civic culture. In this book distinguished authors from several social science disciplines advocate, discuss and challenge some of the main contemporary political solutions to cultural conflict in Europe."
